COASTAL SKIPPER/YACHTMASTER OFFSHORE
Navigation course
This highly regarded 45 hour shorebased certificate course will be run in the RSGYC on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm each evening starting on the 17th of October and planned to finish on the 6th of March, 2019.
Presented by club member David Jerrard of Sea~Craft, the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore is a comprehensive course ideal for anyone who has previously completed a Day Skipper course or who has a similar depth of knowledge, but an interest in the subject and a readiness to take part is more important than previous courses completed.
Designed to build confidence for those who want to become proficient cruising skippers or crew, or to refresh their existing knowledge, the course will cover chart work, tides, weather systems and forecasts, passage planning, pilotage, COLREGS and electronic aids to navigation appropriate to undertaking passages in coastal and offshore conditions.
Suitable for sail and power the course is open to club members and non-members; non-members are especially welcome, so tell your friends, crew and colleagues.
The course fee is €499 which includes the full RYA course pack.
If you already hold this specific course completion certificate we offer a special ‘refresher’ course fee of €325 for the full course.
